Having spent time with AFP and UPMC Altoona as both an undergraduate and medical student, I knew that there would be plenty of opportunities to strengthen my medical foundation in a supportive environment. The residency was also very supportive of tailoring one's experience to their own interests, both through electives and core rotations. I was also thrilled to have the opportunity to return to my hometown for a year, as I think it is a great place to train that offers something for everyone.
