Dr. DeHaas (formerly Orezzoli) was born in New York and grew up in Lima, Peru. She moved to the United States at the age of 15 and, after 3 years in Virginia, spent the next 15 years in Miami, Fl. She traveled to central PA in search of a well-rounded family medicine Residency program in a four-season setting, and found it in Altoona. After completing her residency training at AFP, she hoped to remain in the area, but the right opportunity did not present itself until 3 years later. After 3 years in private practice in Sunbury and Jersey Shore, PA, Dr. DeHaas rejoined AFPin 2005, this time as a faculty member. She is thrilled to be back in Altoona, where she lives with her husband Keith and their canine "children", Alex and Elsie.
