BiographyI was born in USSR, LVOV. My family escaped oppression, prejudice and persecution in 1975. We moved to Pittsburgh, where I grew up and went to college. I went to medical school with the intent of being an OB/GYN. But as my medical school career advanced, I realized that I wanted to help all people. Family medicine would give me that opportunity with the variety of patients. I matched at another family practice residency. It was not the sort of residency that was appropriate for me and I did not feel it was conducive to community practice of family medicine. With luck, I was able to transfer to AFP where I am very happy. Here I am able to take care of a full range of patients from OB and peds to internal medicine without having my feet stepped on. I feel that I have the freedom as a physician, I also feel safe that I can get guidance from any attending at anytime. Also, the residents stick together like family and help each other out. I am planning on practicing as a solo practitioner in a group of 5 family physicians in 5 practices surrounding the Uniontown Hospital in Uniontown, PA. The practice is owned by the Uniontown Hospital. I will take care of patients from birth to death, including OB. I have a strong interest in Women's Health and plan to perform colposcopies and cryosurgery. I am also interested in preventative health and procedures such as sigmoidoscopies and skin biopsies.
