Kristen Grine, DO Clinical Faculty
BiographyAs a graduate of Bellefonte High School, I adored the community in which I was raised and decided to stay nearby, attending Juniata College in Huntingdon Pennsylvania. In college I developed a passion for the Sciences and earned a degree in Molecular Biology. During my four years as an undergraduate, I was able study Forensic Science with the Pennsylvania State Police, and participate in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Honors Internship program, working in the DNA Unit. Prior to graduating, I spent two years researching a yeast model of HIV, culminating in presentation at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research. Realizing I enjoyed the investigation of Forensic Science, the pursuit of knowledge involved in research, and working with people, I concluded that medicine encompasses everything I wanted in a career, and more. After graduating from Juniata College, I began medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in the fall of 1999. While at PCOM, I was able to rotate through numerous medical specialties, at different locations including rural, urban, and suburban communities. After completing these clinical rotations I decided to pursue a career in Family Medicine. It has always been my desire to care for families across generations, and to serve as a resource to the community, who will be both approachable and accessible. Now, my journey has come full circle as I begin the final chapter of my medical education in central Pennsylvania. Update Kristen completed her residency in 2006. She served as chief resident her 3rd year. She then worked briefly as residency faculty before joining a private practice in State College. |
