Hi I'm Kareen Premmer and I am from Rancho Cucamonga, CA.  After high school I moved to Atlanta, Georgia and I received my  B.S in Biology from Clark Atlanta University.  I returned home after college and attended Loma Linda University where I received my Masters of Public Health Degree in Epidemiology and completed research in Bioterrorism Surveillance through Emergency Room data.  I have always dreamed of being a Physician so after graduate school I decided to follow in the footsteps of my older sibling and moved to the beautiful island of St. Maarten to attend medical school at (AUC) American University of the Caribbean.  While on the island I participated in various community service projects and fell in love with the community and the culture.  

I chose Altoona Family Physicians because the overall atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door is friendly and welcoming.  Altoona, Pennsylvania has a down home feeling to it and is definitely a place where you can slow down a bit, experience nature and enjoy the simpler things in life.  I am single with no children so I take full advantage of the freedom I have to pick up and move to different countries or states and experience different surroundings so I didnt think twice about moving to Central Pennsylvania. I enjoy traveling out the country, reading fiction novels, shopping, music, exercising, playing with my pomeranian, and most importantly spending time with my family and friends. 

I have an interest in pediatrics, women's health, and preventive medicine.
