My name is Jessica Jacobs and I am originally from Baltimore, MD.  I knew that I wanted to be a doctor since childhood and it is amazing that I am finally able to see my dream come true.  To me, practicing medicine means that I will be able to impact lives on a daily basis.  Being able to help people everyday gives me the motivation to get through the long hours and makes it all worth it.

I chose Family Medicine because honestly, I love medicine in general.  There are little pieces from each field that I like, and it was near impossible for me to choose just one.  Family Medicine was the perfect fit for me because it will enable me to do a little bit of everything.

Altoona is a breath of fresh air (literally), from the hectic city life.  The two things that really stood out to me about this program were how friendly the faculty and residents were, and the “hands on” approach to teaching.  Not to mention, this program has a nearly 100% pass rate for the Family Medicine boards which reflects the academic excellence of this program.

I am a music lover and in my spare time I enjoy playing piano and guitar, or just relaxing and listening to some good music.  I also enjoy painting, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.
