International Medical Graduate Requirements
We do not discriminate based on race, religion or national origin.
We review every application. Because of the difficulty of evaluating the qualifications of applicants from non-US
schools, we require additional documentation with your ERAS application.
You MUST:
1) Apply through the ERAS program.
We do not accept fax or e-mail applications.
2) Meet the requirements of the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine
to obtain a graduate training license:
We require a minimum of:
8 weeks Internal Medicine
8 weeks of Surgery
6 weeks of Pediatrics
6 weeks of OB/GYN
4 weeks of Family Practice
or ambulatory medicine
all these weeks must be done before
application to our program, not necessarily at US hospitals.
Please refer to the
WHO (World Health
Organization) website to see if your school is listed.
3) USMLE passing score
4) ECFMG certification.
No one factor (other than the above) will make or break your
application. We look at the overall picture of each of the almost 1,000
applications we receive every year to pick the few applicants we are able to
interview. Unfortunately, we are unable to contact all those who we are unable to
interview; please do not call us unless instructed to do so.
