Endocrinology

Overview

Endocrinology is a primarily consultative service and patients are seen in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Management of diabetes mellitus and its complications is emphasized. Other endocrine disorders, including diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenals are frequently encountered. The laboratory evaluation of hormonal abnormalities is also emphasized. Didactic supplementation to the clinical rotation is provided periodically throughout the year by noon conferences. A thorough bibliography of endocrine educational resources is provided.
