Anne M. Millard, MD
BiographyBorn in New York City, my family moved to the Western suburbs (also known as New Jersey) when I was two. I grew up with 2 younger brothers who I teased and bossed around. I kept busy playing softball, reading, and camping, while being the typical overachiever in school. I also made time for music, playing flute in band (until high school when I took up the tuba) and singing in both chorus and choir. After high school, I spent 3 1/2 years at the beach studying marine biology on the Texas Gulf Coast. It was in Texas that I fell in love with driving pick- up trucks, my personal preference for transportation. After working in a lab for 5 years and getting my master's in biology, I realized I liked working with people more than test tubes and incubators and decided to go to medical school. It was the best decision I've made so far in my life. After medical school, a yearning for a four-season climate and mountains brought me back up north in search of a family medicine residency, and I chose to come here to Altoona. |
