Angela D. McElhaney, MD
Upon
completion of my residency training, I will be joining Blair Medical Associates.
I will be working in the family practice office in Duncansville.
I will soon hopefully be part of the medical staff at Altoona Hospital,
so you may still find me roaming around from time to time but hopefully not so
frequently or so late at night. I
am thrilled to be staying in the area.
I would like to thank my family and friends for their continued support.
Thank you to my mother, who has always been my biggest fan.
To my sister, thank you for your constant encouragement. To my fellow
residents, faculty, and staff, thank you for each touching my life in a special
way. Good luck to each of you. I
will miss you all. BiographyI was born in a small rural town called McConnellsburg. I spent most of my years in McConnellsburg playing high school sports and hanging out with friends and family. After high school, I attended Gettysburg College. After some deliberation, I decided to major in Biology and go on to medical school. I also played volleyball in college. I spent three years of work study in college in research on Drosophila melanogaster! What fun! After Gettysburg, I moved to yet another area of Pennsylvania only this one a little larger. I attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. Spending much time studying and with family and friends, I decided four years in a larger city was enough for me and I retreated to Altoona. In Altoona at AFP I have met lots of interesting and fun individuals. I also have a sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew that live here so I am close enough to spoil them, which is great fun. I hope you can take the time to come and meet us here at AFP. I think you would agree its a fun place to live and a great place to work.
