My name is Amanda Cattoi and I grew up locally in the small town of Bakerton, PA, with my parents and two siblings. I went to Cambria Heights High School, which is where I discovered my love of science and initially considered a future in medicine.
I pursued those interests at Juniata College in Huntingdon, where I majored in Biology and did my work-study as a research assistant in the Microbiology lab. From there, I attended med school at Penn State in Hershey, where the scent of chocolate and the sound of roller coasters became mentally linked to giant textbooks for me.
I was drawn to family medicine because of the variety of what you can do. I like seeing patients of all ages with all types medical problems. I am also very excited about being able to foster long term relationships with my patients. I have special interests in rural medicine and women's health.
With my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, watching TV and movies, and rooting for the Pittsburgh sports teams (Let's go Pens!). |
