Williamsburg Rural Office

Our residency has a satellite office in Williamsburg, PA, 18 miles southwest from our Altoona office.

The practice is located in a residential neighborhood in a community of 2,500. The building behind the office is the local school where we provide services as the school physician including sports physicals and covering high school football games as the team physician.

In 2008 the office was expanded to make a total of 7 exam rooms so that some of our senior residents have their continuity patient hours in Williamsburg working alongside the faculty. We also have a rural experience for all third year residents who spend 2 months working in Williamsburg.

The office is directed by faculty member Dr. Fiona J. McLellan seen here precepting Dr. Megan Maurer.

The facility has a generous waiting room
The reception staff members welcome patients as
they check in.
There are seven exam rooms including a procedure room and an OMT room.  The procedure room contains equipment for flexible sigmoidoscopy, cryotherapy, minor surgery, suturing, colposcopy and spirometry.
There is also a lab where Mary Jo Geishauser, RN, Clinical Supervisor, performs quality control checks and can provide phlebotomy services as well as urinalysis, rapid strep tests, pregnancy tests and microscopy studies.

The OMT room is adjacent to the lab area
Our facility is modern and bright, equipped to provide full-spectrum family medicine care for our patients.
