I grew up in a small town called Grampian, Pennsylvania which is about 45 miles slightly northwest of Altoona. Throughout high school, I was involved in various activities: band, choir, majorettes, basketball, volleyball, softball, and outdoors club. After I graduated from high school, I went abroad as an exchange student for a year in Yokohama, Japan. My time was divided among four different host families and each one provided a unique and interesting experience. My husband and I had the fortune of revisiting Japan for our honeymoon.

For undergrad, I attended Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and majored in Biology. During my junior year I married my husband, Mike, who has been extremely supportive of my decision to pursue a career in medicine.

I then attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, known for its beautiful lake but harsh winters! I was one of the crazy students who decided to have a child in medical school. My son, Jeremy, was born March 19th of my second year and although he is entering his terrible twos, I wouldn’t trade him for anything. He has brought much joy and happiness to my life.

Outside of medicine, I participate in both a volleyball and a bowling league. I also enjoy singing, dancing, and spending time with my husband and son.

Kelly followed her love of obstetrics to join an OB/GYN residency after her first year of residency at AFP.  She is currently in residency in Reading, Pennsylvania.  We wish her the best.
