Biography
How does a pulmonologist become a full-time faculty member
in a family practice residency program? While there were several pulmonary
opportunities in the Altoona area when I moved here with my family in 1995, no
opportunity was more enticing than working with the family practice residents at
Altoona Family Physicians. Working with the residency program has been more
personally and professionally fulfilling than I would ever have imagined. Other pulmonologists in Altoona have asked me
where they can get such a great job.
I'm a Midwesterner, born and raised in the Chicago area. My
extended family has since left the urban sprawl and relocated north to Milwaukee
(actually, they all liked Milwaukee so much when I was training there that they
came to visit and never left! In spite of this, don't leave this Web page and
start looking at family practice opportunities in Milwaukee.) I have lived in
Altoona since 1996. I have two children, Ryan, 13, and Ellen, 11 and a golden
retriever named Maddie. Ryan also has a tarantula named "Fang".
